Relief for people with knee pain

I have used this remedy for knee pain before and after knee replacement surgery. Before the surgery, keeping my knee elevated helped with swelling and pain. I know you shouldn't bend your knee on a pillow right after knee replacement surgery, but I couldn't find a way to make myself comfortable enough to sleep when I got home. I ended up using this with another similarly shaped pillow we had at home. I had that under my knee and the other under my leg/ankle. Thus, my leg was raised, but my knee was not bent. This worked so much better than just putting a pillow or two under your foot! Even if I moved a little in my sleep (which I really couldn't do for a while), the pillow stayed in place. With regular pillows, any slight movement and my pile of pillows would fall off and my post-op knee would fall on the bed in pain. Now a month after the surgery I still use it while I sleep to raise my knee and often use it to raise my whole leg as before. I could not sleep comfortably on my side with a regular pillow between my legs as recommended by the doctor. I tried lying with it on my side, with the pillow perpendicular to my body, with my foot on the bed pressed against it, resting my top leg on it. It may take a little experimentation to find a comfortable position, but for me it was far more effective than messing around with a bed or pillow. Haven't tried washing the bedspread yet, but I have a feeling it should air dry. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it.
