Review on πŸ“Ί Zappiti Mini 4K HDR Media Player by Tyler Ramey

It's a pretty good player

Overall it's a pretty good player. I've been looking for a long time and this is the first set top box I've found that plays movies well enough to replace my old WDTV player. The picture is very good and playback is smooth. The remote control buttons are too soft and don't respond the way I'd like, but it works. I found Zappiti support to be very quick to respond to my concerns, of which I had two: 1.) I have an LG OLED TV and any movie with dark or night scenes seemed too dark to me, many details were obscured. It was an awful picture and I would give Zappiti back. Decided to try customer support. They told me to change my Android settings as follows, which fixed my problem: Dynamic Range: Limited (Settings/Display) Depth Color: 10 bit (Settings/Developer Options) Color Space: Y'CbCr 4:4:4 (Settings /options) Developer) 2.) Media Center movie categories "Viewed" and "Unseen" are useless if you want to use a cloud server and have a large collection. I always use the invisible category, best after butter. Unfortunately, when you add a collection, each movie becomes "unseen." According to the support team, you can only change the status of one movie at a time. I have over 1000 movies in my collection. Change status individually. no way. If you have the hardware, you can easily host your collection on a local server and then change the status as needed.
