Review on Tegu Swivel Magnetic Building Block by Tim Nicholas

Child prefers other, cheaper toys

If you have any doubts about buying this Tegu rattle/teething ring then I would say don't buy it. This is based on observing a 6-7 month old baby with him. When I first introduced it to my child, he smiled a lot and she eagerly began exploring and trying to get the beads. It is durable and visually appealing. But the practicality just makes it unfortunate. The magnets hold the parts of the block together and the whole is held very tightly by a strong elastic cord. And that's one of their heavier rattles. There isn't much to do with this toy because the child's hand strength and coordination can't figure out how to spread the bug's wings to manipulate its body. Older children can (actually two and four year olds play this toy more often), but babies cannot. After about a minute of study, the baby will drop this toy. And when given the choice, he chooses other toys. In these photos, she chooses Oboll, baby Einstein Bendy, and the giant dying styrofoam man over Tegu's bug teether. So I suggest spending your money on a cheaper toy or even two.
