It works, but I wish the USB 2.0 ports didn't turn blue

This product works as intended. Aluminum protects against overheating, but unfortunately it is prone to scratches. I usually only use this to give me more ports for my keyboard, mouse and headset, not flash drives. You only get one USB 3.0 slot and the rest are USB 2.0 ports. It's a bit annoying that all USB ports are blue. If you don't read the top and the description, you might assume it's USB 3.0 based on the color. Above it says USB and USB 3.0 so you can tell which is which. The USB 3.0 connector is closest to the neck of the cable. It does what it's supposed to do, which is to provide additional USB ports for lower-powered power supplies like USB flash drives and the like, but it doesn't really offer basic portable hard drive support. It just doesn't have enough power to keep the drive running and connected. If you are transferring a lot of files, you may get disconnected a few times. If you connect a 3.5 inch portable hard drive, there will be no connection problems. I've also tried using it to charge things, but it doesn't provide enough power to fully charge the device. Overall it works for what it's supposed to do. It is not designed to charge or power large devices. However, note that there is only ONE USB 3.0 port, although they are all blue. I connected USB 3.0 to all ports and tried to transfer and everything transferred at the correct speed. It's lightweight and compact so you can easily carry it around. Metallic aluminum keeps it from getting too hot. There are also no LED indicators for this device.
