I bought these to connect an external microphone to the camera. Unfortunately I live very close to some VHF radio towers. Distorted broadcasts seem to be picked up by these short cables like a kind of loop antenna. I'll try wrapping the cables in aluminum foil, but shielded cable might be the best solution for those who live within a mile of an FM station. Update: Wrapping this cable in aluminum foil eliminated interference from the VHF radio tower. I have now replaced this cable with a shielded version (coiled) because foil is not a good solution in the long run.
