Well, I think the helmet is quite light and it sits well on the head, doesn't slip. I have a Giro that no matter how I adjust it with the puff knob on the back, it still moves forward due to the general tremor from the ride. On the Giro, I have to keep pushing up and back for it to stop pushing my goggles. This Shinmax doesn't do that. It just sits where I left it. However, this is because it fits snugly against the forehead. It is partially dense because the padding extends to the front edge of the helmet. There it absorbs sweat, but at some point it no longer has the absorbency, so that it seeps into the visor quite abruptly. The visor is magnetically attached to the helmet. Huge drops begin to run down the center of the visor as the padding sinks into it. It doesn't matter that I find the visor much more comfortable than the goggles. It doesn't stay on the nose like glasses, so there's no pressure there. It doesn't have to fit the ears, so there's no pressure on them. I use Aftershockz bone conduction headphones while driving for outside listening and the goggles usually sit on top of those which get pretty heavy on the top of the ear after a while. Going without glasses is a big advantage. I have also found that the Shinmax visor prevents more air from entering the eyes compared to goggles. In fact, all the padding comes off the helmet, but it's still the head, along with the mesh over the vents in the helmet. and I suspect that this is one of the reasons why so much sweat is released there. It is not aerated enough to evaporate in time. The light on the back turned out to be a gimmick. I found that I almost never used it. Mainly because I forget it's there and when I remember I don't want to take the helmet off because it's already sweaty and putting it back on afterwards is disgusting. The button on it is so weird I can never tell if I pressed it or not, so unless you take your helmet off and look at the light you won't get reliable feedback to know if you've turned it on or not. And that hardly ever happens to me. So I got rid of the USB flashlight, having thought it was a good idea before I bought it. Overall I would say this is a good helmet for the price, not a great one. I doubt that cutting the mesh with scissors will make it more breathable (if that's the word), but I'm hesitant to ruin the padding.
