I've had this scanner for a little over 2 years. After the first year I had a problem connecting the power cord to the back of this unit. The scanner's power cord on the back was loose and the scanner could not see that the power cord was actually connected to it. I ended up having to leave the power cord plugged in for it to recognize its own power cord. I then had problems with the USB cable. The USB cable is connected directly to the back of the device and cannot be replaced. For one reason or another it wasn't working properly and didn't recognize that it was plugged into my computer's USB socket. I'd have to fiddle with the USB cable myself for my computer to recognize that it's connected to my computer. Eventually, it no longer recognized that I had plugged it into a USB port on my computer. I think the wiring in this scanner's USB cable might be frayed due to poor quality. After so many cable issues and one final USB connection issue, I gave up on this one and sent it to a better place - the trash can.
