HP Laserjet Pro M501dn (J8H61A): High-Performance Laser Printer with Advanced Features Review

we bought five pieces in the hope that they would work flawlessly at least for the first time, but no, almost immediately this defect came out

I bought this printer to replace one of our office machines in hopes that it would resemble the old school 3 and quad core LaserJet printers I remember from the 90's remember. This machine absolutely delivers and prints very quickly. The resolution is crisp and everything looks very professional. For SMBs, don't worry about cheaper printers, buy this one.

Update 10/21/20: I've changed my rating from one star to five stars because it's a really GREAT little printer now that it works. I spent 2 weeks on the phone with HP support waiting for parts, service etc. They eventually replaced the formatter card(?). Not sure what it is, but it looked like a printer's brain and now it works great! I printed two separate print jobs of 300 pages each last week and it blew them apart! I have a busy tax office and my main laser printer ruined a 4/6 bed! I went to Revain and ordered this printer and to my surprise it arrived the next day! It was easy to set up and by noon on 7/4. I produced 1040s. It prints sharp and clean, it's September now and I still haven't had to change the original laser cartridge.

We bought 2 of these for our shop. Both worked fine for a few months, then there were problems with duplex printing, the back door to the printer stayed open and didn't allow printing, printed 2 lines on top of each other. And on top of that, HP's notorious cost of their wonderful toner cartridges, which won't honor their warranty if you don't buy them. Good for light workloads, but there are cheaper printers that are suitable for light workloads.

There have been many HP printers but this laser is slower than the latest version. It takes too long. We've done all the different settings to see if there's a difference. First page out is an eternity even with constant use.

Due to Covid-19 we have hardly used the printer, now as we go back to work the printer is printing gibberish characters. HP won't help if we don't pay for support. We're done with HP products!

Worked great for 8 months Now it clicks when fed from the drawer and buzzes when fed from the top or bottom. You have to know how to come back. Dear HP, but it is not reliable. I use at home, so not intensively.

I reordered this printer but it wasn't in stock and came from this seller who was in stock. So I put it in my cart and bought it.
