Take your time and do your homework before attempting to replace the fan. This isn't very difficult, but it's easy to get lost if you don't keep track of which screws go where. Worst of all, these two pieces of foam are attached to the heatsink as one piece. Take your time and scrape it off with the included scraper and it will rise. The kit itself contains everything you really need to fix the problem, including new thermal paste, a lint-free wipe with alcohol, and a dry version. clean up afterwards. I turned it on and only ran it for a couple of hours, but it's quiet and I can feel the heat coming through the vent again. I'll probably buy a few more of these to help others I know fix their switches with the same problem.
