This case looks fantastic and protects my computer surprisingly well. I take it everywhere (Mobile Recording Studio Engineer) and it has saved my PC from several nasty crashes. One of them happened on the concrete floor in the same place as the fall that badly damaged my last caseless Macbook and this time there was almost no damage. This is not a heavy case, nothing like an otter style phone or laptop case. This is good for protecting your Macbook from scratches and small dents during use and in your bag, but you should still treat your computer like delicate hardware, not like a soccer ball or a homemade hammer. A problem I had to consider when choosing a computer. The point is how the case affects cooling. Working with professional audio software is as demanding on the CPU as gaming is on the GPU, which is why I spend hours pushing my premium MacBook to its absolute limits. My computer gets so hot I even burned myself on it! But this case does not prevent the computer from cooling down. All ventilation slots are in the right place and ensure sufficient airflow. My CPU top speed does not drop with this case even when the computer is at its heat limit. The case looks AMAZING. I have a Galaxy pattern with green and orange nebulae and I get loads and loads of compliments. Everyone who sees it comments, and if any of the astronomers are interested, this is an artist's rendering of a structure called the Skyspire, which is part of the Eagle Nebula. My desktop background is Hubble's famous image of the Pillars of Creation on the other side of the Eagle Nebula. So yes, this case is a great conversation starter! I'm very happy with how it looks so I bought a few of these. Which brings me to my final point: I want this to hold together a little more. I got my first one about a year ago and while it appears to be very durable and does a good job of protecting my computer from light, it appears to have a limited lifespan. My first one showed small chips and cracks after about six months. It seems that the first thing that needs chipping are the small lips that attach the case to the computer. I swapped it out and after about eight months small chips start to develop on the new one. Now I think my use is one of the heaviest this case is suited to, so I'm not too disappointed. I'm so happy so far that I'm about to buy a third one! I could buy an Otter-style case, but that would make my computer more likely to overheat, take up more room in my bag, and not look as cool. Overall I am very satisfied and will definitely buy again!
