Very soft and comfortable to the touch (similar to silicone), looks cute and fits my 15" pro perfectly! I didn't feel uncomfortable typing at all (as a developer I type I MUCH) and it was such a lovely soft pink color. The case felt like a soft material and was very easy to put on. I ordered Serenity Blue and was pleased that it was really "Soft Touch" on the outside. I used to use a Speck case for my Macbook Pro 15" Retina and this company has discontinued the "soft touch" version of the case for this model. It's a lot cheaper, looks just as nice and is very easy to install. I even accidentally put the top cap on the wrong side and used a credit card to peel off the edges. I've had a turquoise blue sleeve in my MacBook enemy for over a year. It fits snugly and securely, provides access to all ports and looks even nicer (it looks more sky blue in the photo than it is actually aqua). It never showed up or gave me any problems. I bought this for my wife because she wanted her macbook pro to look like her iphone, this is a "rose gold" (pink metallic) phone. She was so lucky to have the right phone and computer so it was money well spent. The coating protects against scratches and light impacts. Don't drop your laptop on hard surfaces from any distance - it doesn't help much in this case, but it does provide good protection for normal laptop handling.
