We need this carafe because we regularly have a lot of conversations. However, my favorite part of the evening is the "after dinner" talk, but I get a little bored when I have to leave the dining room to put more hot coffee on the table. Also, retelling a story is never quite the same as its original story, and everyone else has already enjoyed the end result. Over the years we have used thick walled plastic carafes and our beautiful china coffee pots which were very hot to the touch. However, neither store heat and the coffee cools down. It was such a waste of time as the reheated coffee doesn't taste that good and I had to throw the coffee away and then of course go back to the kitchen and make fresh coffee. This stainless steel carafe is a perfect match for our Keurig. K200/K250, while our Keurig pours coffee directly into a closed carafe through a tiny hole under the handle. This keeps the coffee hotter as the carafe stays closed while the brewer pours the coffee directly into the closed carafe. As a result, the coffee does not cool down because the coffee is not transferred from the brewing group to the carafe in the open air. This double-walled stainless steel carafe has various advantages. Inside the carafe is coffee insulation that keeps it hot for hours, yet the outside of the carafe remains comfortable in your hand so it doesn't heat up and burn your hand. In addition, stainless steel does not rust and is very easy to clean. The carafe has a very comfortable grip and the lid stays tight and reliable when pouring. However, it's easy to remove for cleaning and I don't have to pull hard to remove it. Several times when I have used the carafe I have measured the temperature at different times. I did this to determine how long the coffee stays hot and also the heating temperature of the rest of the coffee. the ideal series for serving fresh, hot coffee. Note that this is NOT the same as the coffee brewing temperature which is about 20 degrees higher. That's the "serving temperature" at which your mouth won't burn on the first sip. AFTER AN HOUR AND 10 MINUTES LATER, the temperature of the coffee in the carafe is 158 degrees, which is still high enough to be enjoyed. However, coffee tastes more aromatic at this temperature. TWO ½ HOURS, the temperature was 145 degrees, which is still very warm, and the aroma of the coffee is delicious. At six o'clock the temperature of the coffee in the carafe had dropped to 118 degrees. Degree, that's cool, but far from cold. Although I originally bought this stainless steel carafe to serve when our guests come over for dinner, we use it more often in the mornings. My husband and I love reading the morning paper and drinking more than one cup of coffee. So I fill the carafe and we can have a second cup without having to go to the kitchen for another. Plus, in warm weather, it will be even better if we sit our morning coffee outside on the back deck. Although this carafe is an accessory for the Keurig coffee maker, it is used to serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate or other beverages. The lid can be removed and I can use it separately from our coffee maker. The drink stays hotter or colder than any other container. In addition, the carafe is always comfortable to hold on the outside. This is a great accessory for any drink, especially when the drink is hot. This is a useful addition to serving coffee from any coffee maker, simply pour in the drink and close the lid tightly.
