The camera can shake when placed on a shaky surface and I can't fault the stand for that. If you're installing it on a light-colored desk in your home office (e.g. many these days) you might want to consider mounting it on a more stable surface than your desk. In that case, you might want to consider a base that isn't a clamp. In my case, the shaking is tolerable, since the camera or software seems to have some sort of built-in stabilization, I may not be typing during a video call either.
