I have 2 Green-cheeked Conures - they are usually very curious but are reluctant to try new things in their cage. They quickly got used to their birdhouse! I've only used shoeboxes/empty tissue boxes in the past, but my husband has been particularly destructive of them since he got a girlfriend. I am size XL and it fits perfectly and in my cage! I need to find a way to attach it to the outside (didn't have what I needed originally) but it's great the way it is! It's a good size for her (I have XL) and I think it will last at least a little longer than shoe boxes. It is well made and durable. The only odd thing is that the mounting holes on the back are at the bottom of the box, not the top. It came with three screws - I only used two as with two it was strong enough that I was soon able to move it.
