This is the only food that one of our old sick cats with digestive problems eats regularly and always asks for more. It could have literally saved his life. Be sure to take the sauce with coconut milk. BACKGROUND: We have a 16 year old cat who has stopped eating in the last year and we have tried almost every food available. Expensive brands, cheap brands, tuna, beef, salmon, chicken, etc. If he ever agreed to eat food, he would typically only eat new brands/flavors for a few days. He was hospitalized twice and lost just 7 pounds. He has digestive problems and the vet suspects he is on a lot of medication, Prednisolone, Flagyl, appetite stimulants, we put him on an IV every night etc. We thought we would have to put him down. He was so weak that he could not walk straight. About a month ago we accidentally tried this food at the pet store. Boom! He empties the can, comes back and asks for more. He has periods where he literally eats 3-4 cans. I agree - he needs to gain weight and it's cheaper than the vet bill! That's what he loves, it's ***** coconut milk ***** in sauce. Just not the other varieties without coconut milk - he doesn't eat them. I've studied the microbiome and the only thing I can find out is that coconut milk contains some probiotics. Whatever it is, I hope this brand and fragrance will last a very long time. But I bought it just in case.
