So far so good! They are perfect for our bird feeders. Pine shavings or straw were used, but the hens would scratch and throw it all over the coop and eventually lay their eggs on the wood. They're the perfect thickness, make a great base, and don't tear easily when scratched (we'll see). Lay them and a light layer of shavings on top. Chickens love them. When they need cleaning and updating with new chips, just take them out of the box and shake them, add new chips! I think these will take a while. Very satisfied so far! I will update the review in about a month. UPDATE: Only had to replace a few of them so a little over 1 month (that's with 10 chickens and 3 bird feeders) they're still very happy!
