I have doubts about the name of this product. I don't know how well this will prevent the USB cable from being pulled out of the port. The plans are not known. The tether or "string" that you tie to the camera strap ring is very thin. Weak connection. For the money it could be a bit more reliable. Nothing replaces careful handling of the cable. I bought it as a cable strain relief. I place the clamp on the cable where the cable just exits the connector (as pictured) before it begins to curve away from the camera body. My camera is usually on a tripod when I'm tethered. It's probably better to just unplug the cable from your camera than risk your rig falling to the ground now that the cable is attached to your camera. In any case, the JerkStopper serves well as a cable stop to prevent the cable from coming straight out of the USB port and prevents gravity from pulling into your port. I always leave the tether on the camera strap ring and the clip on the cable. I use a quick disconnect to join them when I'm tethered. After unplugging the USB cable from the port, I press the JerkStopper quick connector to disconnect the cable from the leash.
