This is a basic water filter and I think a lot of the negative reviews are due to not reading the instructions. Of course there will be seal pinching or the like in production from time to time, but this is literally a screw-in/screw-in design. And (if you've read the instructions) the first time you use it, you'll need to turn the entire filter housing upside down and slowly open the water valve to force all the air out of the housing. Then flush the filter right side up for 10 minutes and WAIT 24 hours for the filter to become saturated and "conditioned". Then rinse for another 5 minutes and enjoy. If you skip any of these steps, you may have a bad or unsatisfactory experience. Apart from that, it is a high quality turnkey water filtration at a great price.
