Real Plug and Play. I didn't bother to read the instructions. I bought this DVD player to replace a broken built in DVD player in my 30 year old analogue TV. So far I've watched DVDs from Japan, Brazil, Australia, the UK and the US with no problems. No settings are required when changing regions. Picture quality is significantly better than the unreliable built-in DVD player it replaces. I was so satisfied in the first week that I ordered another one, which I connected to my new flat screen TV. This item is a great deal for the price, multi-region attribute, and great image quality. I'll probably buy another one as a "gift" so I can watch DVDs from another region on frequent visits to relatives. The remote control is small, but the main buttons are intuitive.
