Bought a new Coleman 1705 RB trailer. The original door stay was plastic and a gust of wind broke it. I could tell I'd replace it every time I use this thing, so I wanted something more permanent; This is where steel comes into play. When this item arrives it will not fit perfectly. The pre-drilled holes in the motorhome for attaching the door holder and on the door match so closely that you don't need to drill new holes, but when you install this holder on the motorhome the latch angle on the door will not match and it will not work properly . Another problem is that this spring-loaded holder is actually designed for a door that opens the other way. If you're a little adventurous and want to replace those crappy plastic mounts, all you have to do is bend the 90 degree angle of this mount to about 110 degrees and install it upside down. So instead of lifting the holder from the bottom up, pull it down. Once you get the right bend it slides straight into the bracket on the door and is rock solid and you don't have to worry about crappy plastics breaking all the time.
