This is my second remote control of this model, the first one is still working after months of being knocked around in a house with kids (one toddler + myself)I bought this one to retrofit it with a power switch, added to prevent the little dude from pushing buttons and stopping sesame street, or dad trying to watch yet another day of shelter in place news.). After taking it apart (not recommended of course) it's easy to see why this thing is so tough, it's simplicity in one board that does it all. Also - the 2.4G is the way to go, I've tried many other remotes, especially bluetooth ones. in theory those are better but they are not. The pairing adds a layer of complexity and not to mention is unreliable. The USB receiver is easy and looks to be running on a frequency band that won't get flooded out with all the other 2.4G devices floating about.I'm using it on an NVIDIA Shield. And both remotes work fine on it at the same time, even with a USB hub.
