Pretty Cool Sonar - Auto & Vehicle Electronics

So far so good I got it today and took it to the river to try it out. First impression it's smaller than I thought lol. But hey, what can you expect for $45. I tied it to a pole with 17 pounds of gauzy wire and threw it as far as I could, the current is strong here so I had to throw it multiple times. I've been using it for about an hour in water that still has chunks of ice in it, the battery is still running at full capacity which is nice and it found a lot of fish but I still haven't caught it lol. The reading is very simple but a bit confusing because it doesn't show the contours of the ground as they are, just 3 different sized stones that could mean several different things. Also, it doesn't show you fish sizes, just one size for all types of trades, and it has a fish division chart that doesn't show as a number of fish, just a filled bar in a column. Overall I think it's a really good device for the price but don't expect it to be super fancy lol. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because after about an hour of fishing I lost the sonar signal due to a small amount of water getting into the block. I think there may have been some dirt in the gasket on the screw cap to get to the battery. I am giving it 5 stars after using it for a little longer and ruling out an actual leak at the sonar unit seam. A simple block for beginners at an affordable price. UPDATE Sonar works fine and doesn't leak. It has a really good range and got 2 hours of continuous use while still on a full charge. In the shallow water he sees a ghost fish. Shallow means 1 foot deep otherwise it seems pretty accurate. When we say this is the best wireless fish finder in the price range. Changed to 5 stars
