The Nikon SB-20 is a decent flash for a low price. Don't let anyone try to sell you one for more than $50. I bought mine here on Amazon for about $20. It offers TTL and manual modes that work great. In manual mode, the power is reduced to 1/16. It's a powerful flash, plus tilt and zoom capability for wide-angle telephoto. Now that I have the newer Nikon flashes this one is used as a slave and works great for it. One more thing: this flash works great in manual mode on Canon DSLRs. I use it all the time on my 5D in manual mode, making it a pretty versatile flash. The only thing I don't like is that the battery compartment doesn't hold the batteries very well and sometimes they don't make good contact and I have to fiddle with it to turn the flash on. In addition, it does not twist and remove gel filters as easily as traditional flashes. Those things aside, if you want a cheap and reliable Nikon flash, go for one.
