I love this flash - shoe mounts

I love this flash. This is my second. I've been using my other SB-20 for about 6 years now. It has been dropped on tarmac many times and still works great. Why waste money on a new SB-910? Buy an old flash and shoot by hand.

    Pros
    • Manual control: choose full power, 1/2 1/4 1/8 and 1/16 power

Considering I paid for these two small Nikon "Having paid flash beauties only $20 each I absolutely love it! Seriously, think about it, this flash has been almost 30 years since production began, they're still kicking ass. A distinctive and notable feature of Nikon is the build quality of its Products. You can buy a Nikon SB-20, 23, 24 or 28 for almost nothing on the open market these days, people just don't know what they have. These flashes might not have all the latest i-TTL bells and…

    Great flash for beginners

The Nikon SB-20 is a decent flash for a low price. Don't let anyone try to sell you one for more than $50. I bought mine here on Amazon for about $20. It offers TTL and manual modes that work great. In manual mode, the power is reduced to 1/16. It's a powerful flash, plus tilt and zoom capability for wide-angle telephoto. Now that I have the newer Nikon flashes this one is used as a slave and works great for it. One more thing: this flash works great in manual mode on Canon DSLRs. I use it all…

    Bargain on Speedlights

This unit was introduced circa 1986. TTL is not possible with any digital camera, so don't let anyone tell you it is. The SB-20 is so simple, there are no function buttons or scrolling menus. What you see on the back is what you get. In manual mode there are 5 power levels - from 1/16 to full power. And it has an A-mode, where you set your flash to the same ISO you're shooting at and set your aperture to the same f-stop your lens is set to. And the sensor on the front of the flash determines…
