Magnets will not stick/tilt on 17 inch laptops

I received the Duex Max 14.1" 2 hours ago today. Two of the magnets have already fallen off and the whole device falls on the table (I'm sure if it fell on the floor the display would break). I read many professional reviews before purchasing and was aware of design flaws, but I bet that since this was the latest 4th Gen (2022) model - I thought Mobile Pixel had finally fixed the magnet issues by now - it was not the case There really is no point in having a mobile laptop screen extender if it falls on the floor/desk or anything below Another issue I have is that they are advertised as being reversible so the user can use them either left to right and then vice versa This doesn't apply to my 17" laptop. When I followed the instructions and installed the magnets in the middle, the screen didn't slide far enough to either side to g being rotated or even seeing the entire screen. Mobile Pixel should take this into account when using it for 17-inch laptops. However, they advertise this 14.1 inch product as the most suitable for 17 inch laptops. Knowingly using false and misleading product advertising is a US criminal offense and I am considering reporting it. to the FTC for an investigation. Normally I probably wouldn't even check or take any action, but when they're charging $300 plus tax, don't expect it to fall apart in less than 2 hours, and you expect it to work that way on both sides they advertise. The concept is great and worth every penny if they fix the magnet issue and just being honest in their ad that it works for 17 inch monitors on either side. Maybe I could see it working on both sides when plugged into a smaller laptop, but not even close to my 17 inch laptop. I don't care that it's only one-way, but the fact that it's being promoted both ways speaks to the nature of the company -- and hopefully it'll appeal to investors. I'm considering keeping it because, like I said, the concept is great. I just need to find out if there is a stronger adhesive I could use to attach magnets to my laptop that won't damage my laptop. Another issue that worries me is if 1.8 pounds in one direction pull and strain my laptop It would be nice to see long-term product testing for this real problem - why spend $300 on a device that will damage or destroy your laptop's display hinge? I don't think it will happen, but it's an issue that Mobile Pixels should have fixed by now. I understand that in the first round there were these problems, but the 4th generation and nothing has changed, you need to talk to the investors so that you finally see changes and real improvements. Disappointed it didn't happen.

Pros
  • It's a bit heavier than I thought it would be, but I like the portability with my big screen.
Cons
  • He doesn't keep in touch. Constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. it's very frustrating
