According to the ORATEC brochure and the instructions for use of the Emmi-dent toothbrush, this article should be used independently of the brush handle. There is no ultrasonic chip in it, no metal contact either. It works like this: just scrape the surface of the tartar several times in the hope that the tartar will gradually fall off, but the problem is that this tip is much less hard than regular tartar. In just a few strokes, the tip has already lost a quarter of its shape and has become blunt. While the professional dental tool I ordered was still on the way, I just switched to my Victorinox knife and used one of the fine-tipped tools and it worked. Don't waste your money on this POS and get a set of real tartar scrapers.
