Review on Efficient and Versatile: Mr. Coffee 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker in Sleek Black by Omar Card

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Brews coffee, but nasty design flaws.

I had a Mr. Kaffee and I needed a digital one to remember to turn it off. A burnt coffee pot is no fun. I wanted a different Mr. Coffee because I assumed the pot would be the same size. Now I have a spare pot. The problem is that they spoiled the area with water and territory. First, unlike my manual one, the filter goes straight to the brewery. The manual had a removable basket. This means it is very difficult to remove the grounds from the pot. I've found that there are two plastic tabs or "pins" that I can disengage, but I suspect the more times I do this the more likely they are to break. It's also unweighted to stay open. You put the filter in place and start scooping coffee, but it swings on its own. This means you have to open it up every time you want to ground it. It's digital, it shuts down, it works. But "fit and finish" is VERY lacking and I would look for another pot as I can say this one will only annoy me.

Pros
  • The programmable timer allows you to preset the brewing time up to 24 hours.
Cons
  • Minor issues.
