I'm a huge VR fan and have been following the industry since 2015. I already had a high end PC so I could have bought a Rift or Vive when they came out, but I figured I'd wait a year or two to improve the tech. I'm glad I waited because the Samsung Odysessy+ is a better and cheaper VR headset than these two. And since it works with SteamVR, almost all Rift/Vive games will work with Odysessy+. But the two main reasons I like this head seat over others are 1. higher resolution 2. no need to use 2-3 USB ports to connect sensors and no need to hang external sensors all over the room which is ugly . The Odysessy+'s built-in tracking may not be as accurate as the Rift/Vive, but I don't notice it 99% of the time. Technically it can't see my hands when they are behind my head/back as there are no cameras on the back of the headset, but there are rare instances where the game requires me to keep my hands behind my head . All in all, everyone in VR wishes for better resolution. And Odysessy+ is significantly cleaner than Rift/Vive. And no matter what technology Samsung uses, all signs of pixels are gone. In 2019, there's no point in buying a headset that uses three-year-old technology. (Original Rift/Vive) I'm sure if you wait a year or so there will be better headsets on the market. But if you're looking to buy a VR headset now, the Odysessy+ is the best value in my opinion.
