When I decided to add a circulation pump to my aquarium I researched the market and settled on the Maxspect Gyre 350. Positive decision points β’ Maxspect appears to be an industry leader with launch Gyre Technology β’ The Gyre 350 has proven to be ideal for eliminating flow imbalances in various types of aquariums, mine in particular. Management is available at an additional cost. Other manufacturers offer Bluetooth at no extra cost, but since I have multiple devices from different brands, I didn't care. The 300 series has many different features that like other brands are user programmable in the controller. . Let these words go a long way considering the Caveat Emptor doctrine: With so many features available, a lot of knowledge is demanded of the user. Typically, this information is described in the user manual and contains clear and concise programming steps (hypothetically, to use program "A" press the red button and then the blue button). The user manual for the Maxspect Gyre 300 series is a cheek. From grammatical errors to a lack of technical drawings to an apparent lack of instructions, this manual does not provide even the bare minimum of instructions needed to properly operate a pump. This lack of information can lead to dangerous situations in the aquarium, such as B. Injuries to fish or corals. The manual not only leaves questions unanswered, the user will probably never be able to fully exploit the possibilities of the pump due to missing information. Many of these omissions are serious: β’ No listing of the elements in the display β’ No explanation of the functions of the parts or their uses β’ The block consists of two halves that presumably can be programmed differently. No explanation of this functionality or why it might be useful β’ Some icons carry an identifier but no details of their functionality β’ Some instructions are given as simple illustrations. However, they are of poor resolution and do not provide any information about programming operations (there should be some values listed next to the figures; hypothetically press button until "x" appears, turn wheel until "y" appears) β’ Incorrect information (possibly due to a firmware update without Manual Updateβ’ There are several similar copies. An electronic version of the manual is available on the Maxspect website, but it is a duplicate of the printed version and contains no additional information. The support team responds but does not receive any information unless a specific question is asked. You also need to register, register your device, and initiate service tickets before you can exchange messages. When I decided to trade this for another brand, my first step was to narrow down the choice by looking at the manuals of different manufacturers online .This process made the final decision very easy. Maxspect probably has a good device in it, but it's hard to say. If Maxspect were accompanied by proper technical documentation and illustrations, it would be a great device.
