I got hit by a car today

My 2 year old daughter and I rode our bikes down the street today to go to the park. The car hit me on the steering wheel when trying to overtake us. Probably around 25, at least that's the top speed, although people are in a hurry. I literally didn't know what caught my eye first. I heard the guy behind me accelerate like he was going to switch to the left lane and pass me, but the traffic was very tight, he cut too close to him and actually hit me. I don't know what he was thinking, especially as there was clearly a child on the back of the bike. And then he sped off (someone got their license plate and dash cam, so with any luck, they won't be doing it to anyone else anytime soon). It took me a second to understand what had happened - maybe even too many seconds - and to try to catch us and get us out of the way. Thank God the next one was able to brake pretty quickly. I got us off the street. The daughter was crying, but apart from a small scratch on her knee she is fine! I was pretty broken, but when the ambulance came, we actually canceled the trip to the hospital. That thing and the helmet could very well have saved her life. It's well constructed to (1) stay in place - it's been slapped to the side but is still attached to the bike frame. and (2) wrapping the child properly to protect them. I would have already recommended it if someone had asked me, but it gave me the idea to write a positive review. This is a product the manufacturer can be proud of.
