Review on πŸ”§ John Guest ASVPP1LF Angle Stop Adapter Valve: Push-to-Connect, 3/8-Inch x 3/8-Inch x 1/4-Inch by Trey Dikici

If you're installing a plumbing product under your sink, get this valve.

I ordered this valve to replace the plastic tee that came with the 3M Aqua Pure Water Treatment System Under Sink Water Treatment System model AP-DWS1000. These are excerpts and edits from my review of this system. This John Guest Speedfit valve worked like a charm. It has metal fittings so the threads are twisted properly - that was key to the whole project. It has a good shut-off valve so you can shut it off separately from the sink water. I have those typical chrome handle valves that never seat again after twisting, so leaving it alone to change the filters might be a good idea. As a big bonus, the middle white part also rotates independently of the mounts, so it doesn't have to "end" where you want it. Screw both ends in place, then twist the valve to direct the hose where you want it. I've had a hard time making sure this is correct because I was looking for a tee or a tee as they come with a water filter, but it's a "crossover valve" not just one T. It's 3/8" and attaches to the end of the valve that comes out of the wall; the adapter that came with the system went up to the end of the faucet. Some of these JG adapters come with a thread size converter (this one doesn't have one) so you can buy one if you're unsure. Basically all of these water filters/coffee makers/ice makers are 1/4 line, John Guest brand. The faucets for your sink are usually 3/8" in diameter or 1/2" at different ends. I figured it out from the braid between the valve and the sink faucet. He held his breath and turned on the water in the sink. no drips. Installed the hose, turned that blue valve knob, water poured. and no drops!
