Doesn't work with USB flash drives

This is a double-sided flash drive with regular USB and Type-C connector. Great idea, but the C end is too short to stay connected to my phone, keeps falling off Using this item requires downloading file explorer, and most cell phones don't use it. I did what I asked but I couldn't access my saved files. So maybe a mistake on my part, but this thing is NOT working for me
