Review on Neumann 87 Ai Set Microphone by Terrance Duncan

I've had the U87 for 10 years and it's like my favorite pair of jeans. I'm a songwriter, so when I have an idea that needs to be brought to life quickly, the U87 comes in very handy. Of course, I could have done this with the much cheaper TLM 103 (which I previously owned) or any other large diaphragm mic, but the overall sound and versatility of this mic make it worth the money. I also use it as an ambient mic on drums. It rocks positively on female vocals and is beautiful, making it easy to use on acoustic guitar. I'm going to die with this mic, God willing!
