Review on Lippert Components 806621 Thin Shade Black Window Kit - Complete for RV Entry Doors by Steve Modesto

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worth updating for RV parts and accessories

Extremely easy installation but it was a bit short even though I have a Lippert door. It barely fit top to bottom and I had to use butyl tape to make sure I had a good seal and sealed the outside. Definitely need an attachment to one side of the window or a second pair of hands. I'm not very happy with the actually thin part of the shadow. It's not blacked out as advertised, it has huge gaps on both sides where the blind creases are in the fabric itself. I would rate it a three on a scale of 1 to 5, five being complete obscuration. I installed blackout and thermal curtains. on all my other windows and it would be great if this shade had this quality too but it doesn't. It would be nice if they actually offered it separately. I installed the hood backwards as people recommended and I'm very happy with that configuration, but the folds on the curtains don't compress properly in the top four or five folds, so I manually get there with my fingers , to make it look like the photo shows. I don't know if it would be true if I had the opposite🤷‍♀️ I can say that I'm much happier with a more transparent window than an opaque one than I thought. Opaque has always annoyed me, but now that I have transparent I'm very satisfied.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Minor things
