Review on Motorcraft TPMS19 Transmitter by Nick Walker

Late model Ford F-150 (09-15)

I finally got my issues on my 2013 F-150 fixed with the TPMS relearn process and thought I'd post this here , as it's probably a bit confusing for other forum members. There are TWO different learning modes for the TPMS sensors: 1. LEARN the TPMS sensors on my truck: You press the alarm three times and the truck goes into TRAIN mode. This ONLY works if the sensors are "known" to the TPMS module in the truck! 2. LEARN TPMS sensors. This procedure is required after you install new UNKNOWN sensors on the truck and must be "learned" first; RELEASE THE BRAKE PEDAL 4) Turn the IGNITION SWITCH to RUN 3 times to complete RUN (within 10 seconds). 8) A BEEP BEEP indicates the vehicle has entered TPMS RELERN mode. 10) Place the top end of the TPMS Release Tool on the FRONT DRIVER SIDE tire sidewall at the valve stem location. DEPLOY SENSOR, wait for beep 11) After beep go to PASSENGER WHEEL and repeat process. Each bus should not last longer than 30 seconds. 12) After the horn advances to the PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE; and 13) After the horn advances to the DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE. 14) Now you can turn off the ignition. · If the buzzer does not sound, the sensors have been taught in successfully. · If the buzzer beeps twice, the process must be repeated because an error has occurred. I tried to "train" the sensors in my new wheels using the flasher method. but it does NOT work with new sensors. By the way, all RF TPMS sensors (not the early magnetic ones!) work at 315MHz and trigger "EZ" sensors like VDO Redi-Sensors or Schrader.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine
