Review on Herm Sprenger Heavyweight Collar Stainless by Leslie Smith

Authentic Herm Sprenger - great for strong dogs!

We have a 74 pound German Shepherd who always wore a spiked collar when walking because he tends to chase squirrels, small dogs and other furry missiles, but it was a collar that we found at a local bought business. pet store many years ago. We found that the quality of the line was just as important as the fact that she broke the line to catch the rabbit. :/ An 80lb 1 year old German Shepherd recently joined our family and I knew we needed another spiked collar so my 15 year old son could walk and control both of them. I decided to spend a little more money on a Herm Sprenger for both dogs and I'm so glad I did. I was going to buy a zip collar (both dogs seem uncomfortable putting the collar to their ears for the split second it takes to put it on), but I've since learned that zip collars aren't the best option are. . This means that when the dog pulls on the leash, the collar's prongs only press on the dog's throat. The sliding collar puts the same pressure on the neck, which is safer and more efficient. This collar does the job perfectly! When running previously overexcited, super strong German Shepherds, this collar is simply a marvel. Highly recommended!
