CONCLUSION: They work just as well as the much more expensive stand my wife provided at the office. This pricier stand is obviously sturdier and slimmer in design, but this holder mesh stand works just as well and costs less than half. We bought two for our kids' laptops. Weight of a 17.3 inch gaming laptop. The adjustment slots work like an adjustable fry rack. They would be safer if used lower or at a more vertical angle, but they hold up well until everything hits. In fact, even in our busy home at a crowded dining table, they've never broken in use. TIP: When placing your laptop on the stand, make sure the support rod is fully seated in the slots on either side. Some reviews complain that the edge isn't big enough, sticky enough, or strong enough. We've found the lip *easily* to work with everything but the largest (17"+) laptop. They've withstood everyday use by two teenagers, so the quality of materials, design, and build is all right. Also they fold up nicely flat and fits in an accessory pocket in a laptop sleeve. You will need an extra mouse and keyboard because raising the laptop screen high enough to be at eye level will render the laptop keyboard and trackpad unusable. If you like the ergonomics If you want to improve the use of a laptop, this is a good solution at a reasonable price.
