I have always used a set of small flexible cutting boards when cooking. One for meat, one for vegetables and so on. With this board I was looking for something that could support large tasks like slicing watermelons that require more space. I measured my sink and luckily it was the right size. When it arrived I was very excited because it is very strong. Put a damp towel underneath to keep it from moving, and you've got an acre of space for your prep needs. The only thing that worries me is that it's not healing. If you gouge it out with a knife, you'll have that mark on the surface until you use some sort of heat gun, I think, to shape it back into shape. If I had to do it again, I'd look for a more impenetrable interface. Microbes love living in those scratches. But overall a good kitchen appliance.
