We have and have used these for four days and are very satisfied. We've tried the pin on the pads of our paws before, and while we didn't mind changing them every few days, we never knew when one of them would fall off until our dog had a problem. So. Let's try that. Our dog is a large German shepherd. We bought him a size 6 and they are fine, but we only use them on our back legs due to his aging thighs. He took a high step for about an hour when he first put them on, but now they don't bother him at all. The upper part is elastic but the lower part is covered with plastic/rubber to keep it in place. They are big enough for his paw to stretch out. It's easiest to put them on when he's standing. Socks come with extra Velcro straps. They seemed to help a little to keep the socks up, but there are fewer problems without them. We found it helpful to use part of the loop section to hook onto the knitted fabric of the sock. We took off our socks as he went outside. We're in a field and don't want to look around when the sock comes loose on the outside. We sent him along a couple of times and even in the damp grass our feet stayed dry and the moisture was easily wiped off the sock. Inside they work well and prevent him from slipping on our vinyl floor especially when he tries to stand up. You slide down a little but stay on your feet. We withdraw them from time to time. Not so different from when our children were babies. In general, they do not slip. I have a feeling he's actually getting up better. Not just because of the slipping itself, but slipping seems to make the pain worse. He seems to be walking with less pain.
