The tip is not worth the trouble.

I bought them the right size for my daughter, although I had to size them up if I wanted her to wear socks with them. There is so much fluff inside that it almost defeats the purpose of the socks. but that's not exactly a problem, just some information. Why I didn't bother with them for the following reasons: (1) I don't care how they get laced so high on the leg. This allows the tongue to slip out from under the rope and dangle as she walks, causing the rope to simply dig into her skin. So the rope actually had to be a fake string because my daughter just wants to untie it and eat. That's what she lives for. So I think if you can't live without them, I recommend supergluing the thread or sewing it yourself.

Pros
  • Shoes
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
