The lens cap works well. However, if you tie the included cable around the edge of the cap as shown, it will interfere with the lens and cap. Instead I suggest tying a large figure eight knot at the end of the cord as shown. UPDATE: The included cable is pretty slippery. When I tied a loop around the camera to hold the cap, the knot continued to unravel. I lost my hat several times because of this. As a former Boy Scout, I was able to try several different knots (bowline, two half knots, etc.). Nothing worked. I recommend replacing the cable.
