I had no problem connecting the button and plug to my Zigbee Home Assistant separately and I think I could just use the automation but I really just wanted the button connect to the plug as usual and can only see the status in the Home Assistant. I was struggling to get this setup right. I was able to connect the button to the plug, but when I connected the plug to the Home Assistant, the direct connection to the button was lost. Somehow I was able to find the right pairing sequence in the end and it started working the way I wanted it to. Even if I turn off my instance of Home Assistant, the button still works fine to control the plug, but when Home Assistant is running I can still get the switch status and control the button's battery life, which is the desired behavior. Other than that minor issue with the pairing process, it worked great. This is a great little plug and button, seems to be a better quality than other cheap zigbee plugs I have.
