Review on 🎢 External USB Sound Card - CREATIVE Sound BlasterX G6 by Bima ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's the best purchase I ever made, I will definitely do it again.

1) The volume and other controls. Initially after the purchase, I was upset since the game's sound was terrible and the setting was worse than it was on the built-in. Nevertheless, it was discovered that, for some reason, the software's default settings use 7.1 sound, which mashes all the sounds together; hence, switching to stereo was required to avoid the problem. When playing video games, I often set the volume to between 60 and 70 percent (you can switch it to high mode on the case, the volume will double). Three-quarters to three-and-a-half times the loudness at its highest setting. The high frequencies of gunfire in PubG are hard on the ears, and when the volume is turned up, players cease paying attention to other sounds because they can't be heard over the gunshot. 2) Soft. The equalization is all you get; the other settings are common to all users. Initially, I was excited about the software's voice-changing capabilities (the voice sounds like an elf or grandfather), but in the end, I returned it because my conversations with native speakers were hampered by their inability to pick up on my accent and the program's tendency to eat up the tail ends of my words and phrases. 3) Broke. The system unit is located on a different table to the right of my bed, so I did not have enough of the included micro USB cable, which is about the same length as a phone charging cable. Therefore, I went out and bought a USB 2.0 extension cable to make the connection longer and hopefully fix the issue. At first, it wouldn't turn on when plugged in via extension cord, but then it started cycling on and off every two seconds and worked. Although we were having fun for another half a day, the headphones started making a hissing noise, and the G6 stopped responding to our inputs. I sent it in for inspection today after submitting it for repair per the conditions of the warranty. If you intend to utilize an extension cord, you should think about this first (although the mb cable you bought turned out to be of poor quality, but the flash drive and the rest work through it ok).

Pros
  • One) It has a pleasant timbre. Bought mostly with games in mind. As music isn't one of my interests, I won't spend too much time discussing it. Test results are available in dedicated web forums (such as this one: https://www.audiosciencereview. Com/forum/index. Php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-sound-blasterx-g6.7016/) for those who are interested. Instead, I'll give my opinion as a typical, uneducated user. In a short length of time, it is able to connect and set itself up (connected to a computer via micro usb). I tried to compare it to the onboard sound on my computer (Gigabyte Z390 aorus ultra motherboard), but I couldn't really tell a difference when I was viewing videos on YouTube or listening to music on Facebook. The quality of the music I downloaded didn't noticeably improve even when I switched to a flac file. To really immerse myself, I use my HyperX Cloud Alpha S headphones to listen to music (I connected the headphones directly to the motherboard for comparison, removing the headphone usb adapter so that the signal does not go through the sound card built into the headphones). The G6 has a considerable advantage in this area because the volume on the computer's internal sound card can only be adjusted to a very low level. 2) The highest volume is tolerable, with room for improvement (see comment). Thirdly, a wide range of software applications (but this is not for everybody, there are also disadvantages - see comment).
Cons
  • One) A digital utility (see comment). 2) Broke (see comment). 3) The case is made of plastic and is relatively lightweight; however, it would be preferable if it were made of metal. 4) The volume control knob can be turned, however it provides no feedback (smoothly, like adjusting the sound on speakers, only more tightly). Before buying it, I mistakenly thought it functioned like a mouse scroll (with hooks).
