So far I like the picture and the brightness. It only took a few uses to get used to the curved screen. The refresh rate is magic when you move windows and objects with the mouse. The built-in speakers are exactly what you would expect from a monitor. They're perfect for zoomed calls or listening to audio while sending emails, but for gaming you'll probably prefer external speakers. My only problem is that the arm holding the monitor is broken. There is a cable management loop on the arm that snaps into place and two of the snaps are already broken in their hubs. This monitor was packaged fairly well so I'm not too nervous about being dropped or hit and the tabs are tiny and brittle to begin with. It's not crucial to use the holder, but it flops and gets annoying when you're spending over $500 on something. I'm debating whether Asus will send a replacement part or just soak up the karmic energy and let go. All in all I would recommend this monitor.
