The hobby knife is a great product, it has good balance and weight, but this knife is for advanced people because you need to change the blade. It is very different from other hobby knives, if you look closely you can see a small pin stuck on the top or tip of the hobby knife. (Look at the drawing with the arrow for a better understanding.) To replace the blade, you need to unscrew the entire top. Once it's unscrewed, use your thumb and forefinger to grab the base from above, over the rubber pad, make sure YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE AS IT IS SUPER SHARP. Press on it on a hard surface as the blade will come off. At this point the blade will come loose and you can replace it. They are designed for more intensive use. Just make sure the spring doesn't come out when you change the blade, if it comes out just put it back in and then change the blade. The last thing you need to do is change the tiers and tighten the top. I hope it helps you with your purchase of this hobby knife.
