Great replacement for metal lids!

I have a fairly large set of glasses that I received in a canning set that I very rarely use for its intended purpose. Mostly they are used as reusable "water bottles" as they provide an easy way to measure how much water I'm drinking (1 liter per can) and they can go in the fridge and dishwasher. They're also great for storing leftover soup, protein shakes, or any liquid you don't want to put in a Tupperware container. However, metal caps and rings rust over time, so most had to be thrown away. I prefer to save them for real preserves as they are essential for sealing when the jars are cooked. It just so happens that I stumbled across this brand of plastic lids and decided to give them a try. Happy to say they work great! They are very easy to put on, you just twist them like any other glass lid. The instructions mention they can't be 100% leak-proof, but I tested them by turning the jars completely upside down and shaking them vigorously (they're great for protein shakes, like I said, lol) and not a single drop came out out of here! Sometimes you can be unlucky with a lid that doesn't close all the way, but I find them damn tight. They are very easy to clean, I just hand wash them with soap and hot water. I bet it would be great for families with kids. Lids of different colors can be labeled for different snacks or drinks!
