I ordered this modem before I installed the Comcast/Xfinity cable and connected to the internet. I wanted to save money on my monthly cable TV bill since they charge $10 a month to rent their modem (and I wanted to know what I was getting). I chose this modem based on the reviews and I think it was a good choice. I paid Comcast an extra $60 for a professional installation, but after seeing how easy it was for them, I realized I could have saved that $60 and bought a new pair of shoes instead! The house I rent was already connected to the cable cable. , and this device was literally a plug and play device. The Wi-Fi password is printed on the bottom of the modem, making it easy to authorize any wireless device - this is very important to us as we study at home and sometimes have guests who bring tablets and laptops to play or to study. No problems or issues with our internet connection and I would recommend this modem. Some stats to consider before making your decision: Our home is a 3 bedroom duplex and is approximately 1100 square feet. This router's signal stays strong throughout the home, including the basement and attached garage.
