I used to have a Shark with a shoulder strap which was great for walking around the house, dusting baseboards and occasionally dusting cobwebs up high. But Shark is no longer producing and my old one is long gone. So I bought this vacuum cleaner as the next available option. - - Vacuum suction is excellent. The shoulder strap is fair and not as comfortable as I'm used to. - I found that I had a different shoulder harness that I wasn't using, so I threw away the one that came with the vacuum and replaced it with a MUCH better and cat-friendly one. - The weight of this vacuum is heavier than what I'm used to from a shoulder vacuum, but it works well enough. - The bristles of the brush head are so long that the fibers are sucked in and, when switched on, close the opening of the vacuum cleaner, rendering it unusable. So I took a pair of scissors and cut them to a size slightly longer than the suction port to still get the brushing effect but no longer block the suction port. - The hose is quite stiff and while it stretches well, it's stiff and doesn't flex well to move. In addition, the hose has a free-wheeling feature, which makes it important to hold each nozzle by the nozzle lever and not the end of the hose to prevent the brush head from spinning around and slipping out of the area to be cleaned. This is COMPLETELY UNCOMFORTABLE and not good. - Overall it's a good product, but it's in dire need of some simple design improvements. - The price is not reasonable for a vacuum cleaner that needs these upgrades. - I really miss my old Shark shoulder vacuum, it was much better.
