Review on πŸ”Œ ELM 327 USB OBD Scanner Reader with OTKEFDI ELMConfig Modification by John Akins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

ELM327, Forscan ELM 327-HS-CAN and MS-CAN Modified ELM327 OBD2 Diagnostic Interface

Purchased from OTKEFDI via Amazon Fulfillment. I used this to add a factory trailer brake control to my 2019 F150 XLT. Although the truck has a tow bar kit, brake control was not on the option list. I used a Ford JL3Z-2C006-AA part (about $100). After a simple hardware setup I had to program the truck to run the brake controller - option 1, take it to the dealer to program which would have cost $50. Option 2: Use FORScan (Google) and buy this adapter. The adapter worked perfectly after using the supplied CD to install the required drivers. FORScan was able to quickly detect the adapter and communicate with my vehicle. I backed up all the modules found by FORScan, then found the IPC module and made the necessary changes and after a few minutes the brake controller was up and running. I was able to save over $200 by installing and programming it myself instead of having a local dealer. This is a $295 option when included on a new truck like mine. Great product at a very reasonable price.
