The switch is enough for about 1-1.5 years of use. Then the pump either works at full power or does not turn on. I have complained to this company several times about problems. The seal allows moisture to enter the derailleur and the derailleur lever will loosen over the course of a year. They build a great pump but don't switch. However, as this is the third change in 3 years, moisture in the control head caused the pump connections to corrode to the point of cracking. I have had several Wayne pumps as they are the most commonly sold in this area. The cast iron pump itself is bulletproof as long as the seal keeps water out. I expect the pump to last over 3 years and not need a new switch every year. I ended up buying another brand.
